Type of Project : Solid Waste Management in Rajasthan
Nodal Department : Department of Local Self Government

  Project Description

It is proposed to develop integrated solid waste processing sites at 4 cities i.e. Kota, Bikaner, Ajmer and Udaipur. The project would be developed on public-private partnership format in private sector and municipal solid waste would be converted into a useful commercial product to be used as energy pellets in power plants. The viability of setting up of a power plant, based on such fuel, would also be ascertained.

  PDCOR's Scope of Work

The project envisages to develop and implement solid waste processing plants to utilize municipal solid waste to produce Refused Derived Fuel (RDF) in Rajasthan. The conversion process of garbage into Fuel/Fluff would involve size reduction, solar drying/mechanical drying, separation of combustible, final drying and grinding, and finally Fluff/pelletisation. The fluff/pellets could be burned in any closed environment, such as boiler, to produce power.
